Executive President
National Society of Collegiate Scholars
February 2016 - Present
The Impact of my Presidency
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars or NSCS is an honors organization that recognizes and elevates high achievers. Members are deeply committed to the three key words:
Scholarship, Leadership and Service.

Invitations for this organization are awarded only to students who are top 20% of their college or university. As a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, NSCS is a recognized organization at over 330 campuses across the country.
About the National Society of Collegiate Scholars

In February 2016, I was elected as the Executive President of NSCS.
This time, however, was difficult in the history of NSCS at MSU.
The previous President had suddenly resigned and left me with a fragmented Elected Board (E-board). There was no documentation or hand-off process; even with the help of Andre White, the Chapter Advisor, I essentially had to start from scratch.
My Path to Leadership
The Spring 2016 Induction Ceremony
Merely two months after stepping into office, I was tasked with planning the Spring 2016 Induction Ceremony. This capstone event celebrates the accomplishments of all NSCS members.
Even though this was a joint ceremony with another honors organization, Alpha Lambda Delta, I became the main point of contact.
I managed and organized the RSVP list of over 800 inductees, parents, and VIPs. During the four-hour ceremony, I also led over 50 volunteers who greeted and ushered the participants.

My Path Continued
I did not allow those challenges discourage me or my dream to make a difference. With dedication and perseverance, I revitalized the chapter. The table above displays the impact I've made.

In addition, I amended the Constitution and established standards and responsibilities for each E-Board member. Not only did I carefully evaluate each current member of my team, I interviewed all prospective E-board members to ensure that each one exemplified the key words of NSCS.
My goal is to always create an environment where students, mentors, and peers can exchange their ideas and empower not only each other, but also themselves.
Being the Executive President of NSCS gave me that opportunity.
Laying the groundwork for the future members has been such an enlightening experience. This has shown me that I can accomplish greatness through perseverance and dedication.
